22Kw Marine Duty Drive

The CRB-M2200 is a common rail pump test bench configured for marine engine workshops, where pumps run continuously at high load and downtime is measured in charter days rather than hours. The bench drives pumps with a 22 kW continuous rated motor, holds rail pressure to 2500 bar and uses a titanium plate seawater heat exchanger instead of an air cooled radiator, because engine rooms rarely offer enough ambient airflow for a conventional cooling pack.

Two independent flow meters read delivery and return volume at the same moment, so a technician can separate a worn pumping element from a leaking pressure control valve inside a single run. All wetted parts downstream of the pump are 316L stainless steel or nickel aluminium bronze, and the fuel circuit is isolated from the cooling circuit by a double wall exchanger, so seawater can never reach the fuel path.

The cabinet carries a marine grade epoxy finish and the electrics sit in an IP54 enclosure with anti condensation heaters, which keeps the control system stable in the humid, salt laden air found on board. Fasteners, hinges and the fixture cradle are stainless, so the bench survives the same environment as the machinery it serves.

Key Features
  • Seawater Heat Exchanger Cooling: a titanium plate exchanger holds fuel temperature at 40 °C plus or minus 2 °C even when the bench is installed in an engine room above 45 °C ambient.
  • 22 kW Marine Duty Motor: continuously rated with class F insulation, sized for back to back endurance runs without thermal derating or forced cooling.
  • Twin Independent Flow Meters: delivery and return volume are measured simultaneously from 0.03 to 400 L/h, so internal leakage is isolated from pumping element wear.
  • Double Wall Cooling Isolation: the fuel circuit never contacts seawater; a double wall exchanger with a leak detection port separates the two media permanently.
  • IP54 Salt Resistant Cabinet: marine grade epoxy finish, stainless fasteners and anti condensation heaters protect the electrics during idle periods in port.
  • Remote Diagnostic Link: an Ethernet port lets the shore technical team read live pressure, flow and temperature data while the vessel is at sea.

Applications

The bench is built for shipyards, marine engine service companies and fleet operators running auxiliary generators and propulsion diesels. Typical work covers overhaul acceptance testing, fuel pump calibration after nozzle replacement and pre voyage condition checks, where a failing pump would otherwise force an unscheduled dry docking.

Because the machine can run continuously, it also supports endurance routines: a pump is cycled through the full pressure map for two hours while debris and return flow trends are logged, giving the technical superintendent a trend line instead of a single spot reading taken at the dock.

Packaging & Quality Assurance

Benches for marine customers ship in a seaworthy plywood case with a vapour barrier, desiccant packs and a shock recorder. The cooling loop is drained and sealed, and the seawater connections are blanked with stainless caps. A commissioning kit includes a spare exchanger gasket set, filter elements and a laminated quick reference card for the pressure map.

Each unit is tested on a reference pump for six hours, including a thermal soak at 45 °C ambient to confirm the exchanger holds fuel temperature. The factory report documents pressure stability, flow repeatability and insulation resistance. The warranty runs eighteen months on the drive and cooling circuit and twelve months on the control electronics.
